About Us

If you are planning a trip to Yellowstone National Park or just down the road to Cooke City, MT, or if you intend to drive over the Beartooth Highway, Big Moose Resort is the perfect destination. Consider it your “base camp”.

Big Moose Resort is a small family operated establishment. My son, Flint, and I bought the Big Moose May of 2016, and are constantly working to improve your stay with us. We offer various styles of mountain cabins for your comfort.

Big Moose Resort is open year round. Located less than 3 miles from Cooke City, Montana and a scant 7 miles to Yellowstone’s northeast entrance (Lamar Valley) on US  highway 212 also known as the Beartooth All American Highway.

If you like to hike, snowshoe, four wheel, snowmobile, fish, hunt, sightsee, view animals, ski or if you prefer to just relax, it all starts here.
